The role


Helping health providers make better decisions and improving care and outcomes for our communities through data insights and benchmarking is the cornerstone of what we do at Beamtree. The role of the Senior Health Data Analyst is paramount to ensuring that, as responsible data custodians, we produce resonant, consumable and timely information that is of high quality and value across the Health and Human Services sectors throughout the various jurisdictions we serve.


The Senior Health Data Analyst works in a collaborative team environment to conduct high quality, advanced analyses, interpretation and communication of benchmarked healthcare data. In addition, the Senior Health Data Analyst will contribute heavily to the future direction of the healthcare benchmarking program as a whole, aligned to strategic requirements.


The role will require flexibility to liaise with colleagues in other time zones as required.

This role will be based in the UK reporting to the Head of Insights & Knowledge Production in Australia, working with colleagues in the UK, Australia and globally.


What you’ll do


  • Design, build and maintain business intelligence dashboards enabling hospitals to undertake data driven improvement initiatives
  • Conduct advanced data analyses to extract insights from large and complex hospital datasets
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of data analysis tools and techniques
  • Engage with internal and external customers to support holistic data-driven discussions to improve care and outcomes for communities
  • Design, build and present visually compelling data analyses to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management, stakeholders, and customers, and provide training and support to stakeholders as needed
  • Prepare written reports, infographics, and presentations with evaluation of results and recommendations
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity and security of data by identifying and implementing quality assurance methods
  • Contribute advice and expertise to the implementation of the healthcare benchmarking program strategy.

Who you are


To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Quantitative Sciences or Health, and an understanding of NHS information governance and security requirements.


In addition, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Evidence of advanced healthcare analytics skills – extensive data analysis and interpretation of healthcare data and improvement strategies; developing and validating methods and measures of health system improvement
  • Knowledge of healthcare data collections in the United Kingdom, including their strengths and limitations
  • Experience leading technical analytical processes and reporting within the health sector and communicating with internal and external customers
  • An ability to leverage methodologies like the Design Thinking Canvas to explore problem statements with stakeholders and develop technical requirements for analytics outputs
  • Proficiency in analytical functions within MS and SQL languages, R, Python and MS Excel and technical expertise within Tableau, PowerBI and/or other BI Tools
  • Strategic thinking, identifying and leading new projects, business ventures and professional development opportunities
  • Confidence and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
