What is the job about?

As our Energy Manager, you will deliver high-quality guidance to companies of all sizes at their every step toward achieving net zero. You will engage with businesses in services ranging from energy and carbon audits, to full costed energy efficiency roadmaps.


Additionally, you will be supported in your development within the role to gain the skills and experience necessary to be considered a fully qualified Senior Energy Manager. This will include providing energy management services to our range of clients, using our in-house ClearVUE carbon and energy management system to provide the basis for support.


What exactly will you do?

  • Become familiar to expert level on in-house ClearVUE energy management systems.
  • Use ClearVUE to undertake proactive energy management across all clients.
  • Analyse data to identify potential energy saving opportunities.
  • Undertake site visits to liaise with clients around energy savings.
  • Act as part time or virtual energy manager.
  • Undertake detailed energy audits (BS16247).
  • Be responsible for energy services for a set of clients – you will act as their energy specialist.
  • Able to demonstrate, either on-site or via web, the ClearVUE carbon and energy management platform to potential clients, demonstrating its benefits drawn from the system’s data.
  • Undertake site surveys in preparation for the installation of ClearVUE, liaising with the client to identify best solutions.
  • Provide compliance and legislation services as required, such as SECR and ESOS.
  • Use personal and professional credibility to ensure clients identify you as their trusted energy services provider.
  • Analyse data and compile reports that help clients understand their energy usage and how they can reduce it to save money and reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Deliver energy consultancy services and long-term support to customers.
  • Any other duties that are deemed appropriate from time to time.


What we’re looking for

  • University graduate or other academic experience within energy management or sustainability.
  • Comprehensive technical and engineering knowledge relating to all aspects of energy efficiency.
  • Knowledge of “smart” use of energy including demand side management and load shedding.
  • Comfortable in all environments, from heavy industrial through to commercial.
  • Comfortable meeting clients both in person (on-site visits) or virtually.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with IoT and “big data” solutions.
  • Someone who is adaptable, enthusiastic, flexible, and team player.
  • Able to understand and communicate effectively with customers from various sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Great ability to describe the intrinsic meaning of human action and moral agency as it relates to climate change.
  • Able to speak confidently about complex issues directly to clients.
  • High standard of written English.
  • Technically proficient to be able to analyse data and write reports that help clients fully understand their energy usage and how they can reduce it.


Bonus points

  • Degree qualified in engineering, energy, energy management, or related discipline.
  • Experience in industrial and commercial energy and carbon management services.
  • Experience of different types of energy management systems and smart metering solutions, from installation through to regular use.
  • Prior familiarity with UK and EU environmental regulations (e.g., SECR, ESOS, EPC, and TCFD).
  • Experience with carbon emissions accounting or carbon foot printing.
  • Understanding or experience of energy efficiency audits.
  • Understanding or experience of energy markets and infrastructure.
  • Voluntary involvement in environmental projects, clean-ups, activism, etc
