As Bar Manager you'll collaborate with the Assistant General Manager to orchestrate seamless planning, recruitment, and execution for this fresh Clays location.This role will be accountable for the operational success and the day-to-day delivery providing amazing beverage experiences for our guests. You will be required to ensure the bar is set up for success and maintain a strong connection to our company's values and its F&B strategy.In this role, you will oversee a team of approximately 9 bar colleagues you will work closely with the leadership team and our operations director (son of the Maestro Salvatore Calabrese) Jon Calabrese, to drive colleague development to ensure the company achieves its succession planning goals through the Clayers Academy.We are looking for a self-driven highly experienced Bar Manager candidate who has worked in premium high volume operational businesses. Due to the nature of our wet business, we require a candidate with lots of cocktail experience. You will be a dynamic thinker and passionate about people, both guests and colleagues.The right candidate will have a proven track record of delivering the highest Food and Beverage standards and has incredible attention to detail. You will also need to be a strong communicator with the confidence and energy to engage a team to deliver.Previous experience of working in a fast-paced high-volume food and beverage environment is necessary and experience in another competitive socialising concept desirable.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESYour role will include but may not be limited to the following responsibilities;Operational Management:Oversee daily bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient serviceImplement Clays standard operating procedures for bar colleaguesEnsure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulationsMaintain bar equipment and utensils, ensuring they are in good working orderPlan and execute the menu in accordance with Clays F&B StrategyCoordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality ingredients. In line with Clays F&B StrategyOur Clayers:Recruit, train, and mentor bar colleagues, fostering a positive work environmentEnsure Clays performance reviews (IMPACT Chats) are being managed effectively by our policySchedule and manage bar colleague shifts to ensure adequate coveragePromote Clays Behaviours and effective communication within the bar and with front-of-house colleaguesSupport colleague development through ongoing training via Clayers AcademyEnsure colleague compliance with company policies and proceduresGuest Experience:Ensure that all drinks are prepared and presented to the highest standardMonitor guest feedback and make adjustments in service as neededInteract with Clayer colleagues to gain feedback and ensure guest satisfactionAddress and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and effectivelyMaintain a focus on providing exceptional beverage experiences for all guestsFinancial Management:Develop and manage the bar budget, including labour and beverage costsMonitor and control beverage inventory, minimising waste and managing stock levelsAnalyse financial reports to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvementsNegotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices for quality ingredientsEnsure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial targetsImplement cost control measures without compromising on qualityMarketing and Promotion:Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and promote special menus and eventsAssist in content creation for promotional materials, including social mediaParticipate in marketing initiatives to increase the visibility and reputation of ClaysAccountable for the execution of Clays 3 key seasons, Sunshine Months, Moonlight Months and Festive PeriodAct as a brand ambassador, maintaining the Clays beverage reputationAdministrative Duties:Maintain accurate records of bar operations, including inventory logs and financial reportsEnsure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirementsPrepare and submit required reports promptlyManage bar documentation, including recipes, training materials, and safety proceduresOversee beverage safety and hygiene auditsExecute bar policies and proceduresDetermine local suppliers in line with our F&B StrategySKILLS, DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTESMental Health First Aid (not essential)WSET Level 2 (not essential)Fire Warden (not essential)First Aid (not essential)Food Hygiene Level 3Health and Safety Level 33 years of experience in a similar position is desirableAlways looking for opportunities to improve your knowledge and abilitiesPassionate about hospitality and creating amazing experiencesA keen eye for detail with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build lasting relationships with colleagues and clientsHonest with strong moral principlesTake initiative, solve problems calmly, and work well under pressureBe a mentor, a proven high-performing people manager with a track record of developing talentWHAT YOULL GET IN RETURNWe value our colleagues greatly and want everyone to feel rewarded.Our great benefits include:Competitive Salary : A base salary of £34,000 with on target earnings of £43,000 made up from an on target performance related bonus plus Tronc service chargeHoliday : 32 working days holiday pro rata each year, including bank holidays, with an increasing allocation up to a maximum of 36 days with length of serviceColleague Discounts : Enjoy a generous 50% discount during off-peak periods and 25% during peak periods for you, your friends, and family.Paid Breaks : We value your time and ensure youre compensated for your breaksHealth Care Cash Plan : Up to £995 for reclaimable appointments & treatments, and access to a Virtual GPCareer Growth : Advance your career with Clayers Academy, our online learning platform, and seize opportunities for growth within our expanding business.
