JobDescription Based in London, our team are part of the FSEE(Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering) group. We buildthe low-level SDKs and fundamental technologies used by our gamedevelopment partners to create PlayStation Games. Our team areworking on the latest GPU and Machine Learning technologies todeliver the next generation of high-performance computer graphicsfor PlayStation. We are looking for an experienced manager withstrong people skills to lead a team of experienced engineersworking on Graphics, Machine Learning and Game Technologies. With astrong understanding of engineering concepts, your mainresponsibility will be to lead and support a team of talentedindividuals to develop and deliver the best possible technologiesfor our development partners. The ideal candidate will be a highlyskilled manager with a background in Graphics/GPUs/ML developmentfrom working in video games or a closely related industry. You willhave proven track record of leading effective engineering teams todeliver high performance, innovative technical solutions. Whatyou’ll be doing * Managing a team of experienced softwareengineers: Providing guidance, mentorship, and unwavering supportto help them achieve their professional goals, fostering anenvironment where they can thrive and excel. * Driving forwardresearch, development and implementation of the latest graphics andgame technologies through to delivery in our game SDKs. * Workingwith technical leads, engineers and project managers, to plan goalsand objectives. * Connecting with stakeholders, making sure oursolutions meet customer needs. * Encouraging research, innovationand a culture of continuous learning in the team. * Fostering astrong team culture, morale, and cohesiveness. * Supportingtechnical leads by ensuring that the team has access to tools andresources to perform their work effectively. * Aligning teamobjectives with the overall organizational goals and long-termvision, ensuring that our efforts contribute to the broader missionof the company. * Conducting staff appraisals, fostering individualgrowth and development through regular one-to-ones, and identifyingand mitigating risks. * Handling administrative tasks - Approvingholidays, purchases and expenses, ensuring smooth day-to-dayoperations. What we’re looking for * A degree in Computer Science,Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus. *Experience delivering technologies in the interactive entertainmentindustry, computer graphics, or a related field. * A passion forgaming and a keen interest in GPU technology trends such as ML andRay-tracing. * Excellent people skills with Line managementexperience (goal setting, appraisals, staff development,performance management) * Strong project management skills, withthe ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet projecttimelines. * Familiarity with agile development methodologies and acollaborative approach to problem-solving. * Excellentcommunication skills ensuring good stakeholder relations(collaborating with development teams across the company. Ensuringcustomer needs are considered.) * Ability to create and communicatecomplex technology plans. * You are a strong advocate for personaland professional growth, ensuring that every team member feelsvalued and heard. * Your approach to leadership is proactive,adaptable, and driven by a deep commitment to the success of bothyour team and the organization. * Experience in coaching andmentoring team members, fostering an inclusive and collaborativework environment. * You are experienced in managing teamcommunications in a large organization. Domain Expertise:Experience with programming languages, tools and frameworksrelevant to graphics and machine learning (e.g., C++, Python,PyTorch, OpenGL, DirectX). * Experience in Machine Learningdevelopment is highly desirable.
