Job Description

Data Analyst – Master Data

The Role:

We are undergoing a rollout of our data and analytics capabilities and are looking for a Data Analyst with Master Data experience to join a team to support the initiative. You will have the knowledge and experience to gather and definerequirements/stories,perform analysis and profile/query data, solutionise, define stories, tasks & actions, and juggle multiple priorities for a new Master Data platform.

Be a critical part of the Project team with a focus on collaboration and team success.

The job is varied and a Can Do attitude is a MUST.

Data Analysis

  • Ability to investigate, document, become an expert and collaborate on and around:
  • Processes
  • Systems
  • Ways of working
  • Master Data
  • Examples of the type of activities needed are:
  • Data comparisons, logic for matching, deduping, cleansing, defining new mapping rules, and much more.
  • Define problems, analyze options and resolutions, and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify objectives, opportunities, and potential benefits available.
  • Develop a strong understanding of products, processes, and solutions focusing on business outcomes.
  • Write Functional Requirements / Stories to support the Data Enterprise Team in providing technical solutions to business problems.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on new data sources to produce field mapping and data type assessments.
  • Support estimation and planning of work to convert the requirements into User Stories.

Master Data

  • Experience in Master Data systems (Informatica P360 ), with an understanding of why and how they are different and what needs to be done to make them succeed.
  • Document, define, establish controls, ensure quality and appropriate structure and process for all data in your tasks.
  • Assist the Power BI team and Data Engineers preparing reports for management, stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Support and coordinate all activities including testing, user adoption, training, and communication.

Must Have Knowledge and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Hands-on technical capability to analyze, interrogate, explore, and document datasets in a Spark & SQL-based environment
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders to:
  • Assess potential data use cases and needs
  • Document data & definitions
  • Define quality, security, and controls
  • Experience with Master Data systems
  • Understanding of product and its role in the organization
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Conduct meetings and facilitate workshops to capture functional and non-functional requirements and User Stories
  • A good understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Ability to visualize results, present findings, and offer guidance on how to resolve issues
  • Working with teams to identify and recommend improvements
  • A demonstrable track record of getting things done while managing competing pressures and deadlines with attention to detail and quality
  • A passion for technology and its ability to have a positive impact on business
