JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

In Summer 2025, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will offer a wide range of summer programs for students in grades 9 – 12. Our programs are designed to give participants a brief introduction to a hands-on, project-based college education. Programs are one to five weeks in length. We offer STEM programs such as biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, mechanical engineering, physics, and robotics, as well as various business and humanities courses. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Office of Pre-Collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking to hire part-time teaching assistants for our summer programs with students in grades 9-12. These positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for our office and will be filled on an as needed basis. Depending on the program(s) you are interested in working with, your start date will be either July 7 or July 21. All positions are considered temporary employment for our summer 2025 programs, only.

All applicants require excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A successful teaching assistant will also exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and an interest in working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate or high-level undergraduate student who is studying science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or business. Undergraduate Degree Preferred Conditional offer pending a criminal background check.

COMPENSATION:

Varies, depending on the program
