Through seamless collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including Product, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams, this role entails nurturing ongoing and forthcoming initiatives, ensuring consistent alignment with user-centric goals. Guided by our Design Principals to expand your T-shaped skill set, you will assume responsibility for various design facets, including user research, information architecture, content design, interaction design, and visual design. Your mandate is to drive enhancements and innovations across the Matillion product portfolio. The role extends beyond design execution; Senior Product Designer will be an ardent advocate for design thinking throughout the organisation, playing a pivotal role in scaling our design practices. Your vision will encompass the broader landscape while simultaneously scrutinising intricate details. By experimenting with novel concepts, your aim is to usher in product experiences that are not just useful and usable but also highly desirable in the market.

Responsibilities

Comprehensive Design Responsibilities Identify user needs and develop elegant user experiences in collaboration with other designers, developers and stakeholders  Define, create and communicate concepts, end-to-end scenarios, service blueprints and prototypes to all stakeholder levels  Create stunning visual interfaces applying and contributing patterns and components to the Matillion Design System  Contribute knowledge and experience towards elevating the product experience and consistently raise the benchmark for Matillion Design  Introduce and scale design practices that drive quality and efficiency across the organisation Strategic Design Execution Ability to think far beyond the user interface, seeing things from 10,000ft to 1ft (or 1px!)  Analytical viewpoint with a focus on learning, testing and improving  Fantastic communication abilities (interpersonal, verbal, written, whiteboard, sketching!)  Confidence synthesising research, rationale and concepts into informativedeliverables and engaging sessions for all levels of stakeholder attendance  Proficient and autonomous, working either independently or collaboratively, effectively managing a range of stakeholders  Ability to elicit and receive feedback professionally, as well as givedetailed, constructive and actionable feedback to others  Highly purposeful prioritisation of time (as your most valuable resource) insometimes ambiguous circumstances

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in delivering software application UX  Minimum of five years of experience in various UX roles, or demonstrate exceptional proficiency if you have less experience  Strong knowledge of user-centred design, visual design, and interaction design  Passion to stay at the forefront of design, technology and the data landscape  Ability to effectively communicate design decisions and concepts so non-design roles understand them  Experience in qualitative and quantitative user research techniques, personas and user story creation Have used and contributed to design systems  Proactive, inquisitive and highly collaborative nature  A strategic approach to problem-solving  Have been involved in the end-to-end design process  A foundational understanding of responsive web design, HTML, and CSS is preferred, but coding skills are not required for this role.

At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards.
