Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary:£50,000 – £63,000


Role Summary

Senior Primary Care Data Analyst will lead the reporting team in delivering high quality insights, ensuring data accuracy, and automating reporting processes. The role requires strong BI expertise and practical knowledge of statistical methods. The successful candidate will act as a mentor to the analysts, guide reporting workflows, and support the scalability of the BI function.

Who We Are

Healthcare Central London Ltd (HCL) is a federation of 31 General Practices and 4 Primary Care Networks (PCNS) in Westminster caring for more than 275,000 registered patients. We provide Community and Primary Care services to our local residents, in addition to a wide range of staffing, management and administrative support to our member practices. By working closely with our PCNs and other key partners, including the Local Authority and community organisations, we help people to stay well and live healthier lives for longer.

We operate Federation-led services including Respiratory and Spirometry hubs; Community Cardiology; Community Dermatology; Community Diabetes service; Access E-hub and Enhanced Access and we support PCNs with managing their NWL single offer contract of services and the National Network DES contract, including ARRS roles.

We are proud to have a unique model of community-led care and support to tackle imbalances and inequality in the system called ‘The Octopus’ and takes us on a journey as part of the Westminster Integrated Neighborhood Team (INT)

We work collaboratively with other partners in the commercial sector including joint ventures; research and consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Support
    • Act as a mentor to Data Analysts, providing guidance on reporting and analytical tasks.
    • Lead workload management and provide stakeholder engagement.
    • Lead the QA process for all outgoing reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to governance standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Apply practical statistical methods (e.g. trend analysis, basic forecasting, removal of outliers) to improve analysis and reporting quality.
    • Develop and maintain advanced reporting solutions using Power BI and Power Query.
    • Manage complex reporting requests and ensure timely delivery of high quality outputs.
  • Quality Assurance and Governance
    • Maintain a comprehensive QA process, including validation of statistical assumptions in key analyses.
    • Ensure all reporting complies with governance and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain consistency and accuracy across all reporting outputs.
  • Process Improvement and Automation
    • Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement automation solutions using Power Query and Power Automate.
    • Design standardised templates and dashboards for recurring reporting tasks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and provide more focussed analysis.
    • Present findings to senior leadership in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Training and Development
    • Provide training to team members on BI tools and statistical methods.
    • Regularly evaluate and develop the skills of junior analysts.

Requirements

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Expertise on Systm One Clinical Reporting and Data flow
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrable experience (3+ years) in healthcare data analysis, with a focus on BI and statistical methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, and Excel.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical techniques such as trend analysis and forecasting.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of managing relational databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate.
  • Exposure to integrated care systems or federated healthcare organisations.

Salary Range

£50,000 – £63,000
