As the Senior Manager - Data Product, you'll set and oversee the strategy for data product development and management, ensuring every initiative aligns with our business objectives and strategic goals. Your leadership will shape a comprehensive portfolio of data products, prioritising projects based on their strategic value and ROI, while overseeing governance and platform managers to ensure seamless implementation. In this role, you'll develop and communicate clear roadmaps for data product development, partnering with vendors and development providers to guarantee timely, high-quality delivery. You'll also lead and mentor Manager-level roles within the data product team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance, while supporting the professional growth of your team members. Your expertise will extend to overseeing budget allocation and resource management for data product initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and managing costs within budget. You'll work closely with finance and procurement teams to secure the necessary funding and resources, driving the success of data product initiatives at Virgin Atlantic. Day to day Set and oversee the overall strategy for data product development and management. Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of data products aligned with business objectives. Prioritise data product initiatives based on strategic value and ROI. Directly manage and mentor Analyst and Manager-level roles within the data product team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance. Develop and communicate a clear roadmap for data product development, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy. Oversee budget allocation and resource management, ensuring efficient use of resources and managing costs within budget. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure high-quality delivery. Monitor progress, adjust plans as necessary, and work closely with vendors to meet strategic goals. Ensure team alignment with the organisation's strategic goals, oversee professional development, and manage stakeholder satisfaction. About you Extensive experience in data product management in a senior leadership role overseeing teams of managers and analysts. Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Proven expertise in BI, data science, and digital applications, with a strong track record in setting strategy, developing roadmaps, and managing a portfolio of data products. Strong proficiency in data tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, APIs, and cloud platforms including Databricks, Azure and AWS, with a deep understanding of data integration techniques and best practices. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision- making and effectively communicate complex data strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
