Our trusted client that operates within the financial domain is currently looking for a Senior Data Solutions Designer to play a pivotal role in their ongoing transformation. This is a key position for someone with strong expertise in data modelling ideally using tools like ER/Studio or Erwincombined with hands-on experience in modern data engineering.This is an exciting time to join our client, as they bring data into the heart of eveything they do and shapre the future of data architecture within the group.
The business is moving from on-premise infrastructure to a cloud-first environment, and they’re looking for someone who can not only design robust data solutions but also understand the technical detail required to bring those designs to life. You’ll be joining at a time when data is being embedded at the heart of decision-making across the organisation, and your work will directly influence the future shape of their data architecture.

Core responsibilities:

Working with Business Solution Architects to understand the direction of the business and to be proactive in suggesting and designing solutions that enhance our business offering and proactively engage with the business regarding projects and ensure that Data principles are being adhered to.
Work with the Data Architects, Data Owners and Data Stewards to ensure the opportunities and impacts of new features are fully exploited and understood, and contribute to the creation, maintenance, promotion and use of metadata resources such as Data Dictionaries and Data Lineages.
Proactively engage with the business regarding projects and ensure that Data principles are being adhered to, and proactively identify improvements to data manipulation processes and systems, promoting Data architecture and best practise.
Develop and maintain an understanding of data across key business areas, systems, processes and business relationships.
Be a champion for Data and the best use of our Group data resources in support of business objectives.
Support the Head of data architecture, working to continuously improve processes and solutions in the Group across all data types; focusing on demonstrable value back to the business.
Core skill set:

3 years’ experience of stakeholder engagement: Interacting with people across both business and IT domains to elicit requirements is essential
Specialist knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Management, Data Modelling and Data Warehousing concepts is essential
Previous work experience in large scale Data Warehousing projects in corporate environments in regulated industries is desireable.
Desired experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, ADSL2, CosmoDB, Synapse, PowerBI & DataBricks
Ability to query and interrogate data using languages such as SQL is essential
Robust evidence of delivering data analysis and solutions is essential
Good interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills is essential
Specialist and technical knowledge of data warehouse and reporting system is essential
