My Client is looking to appoint a specialist to support a significant data migration portfolio of work within the Transformation Project currently being undertaken. This is a very technical role that will bring in specialists who will be able to support the project as well as promoting the transfer of knowledge and upskilling of an internal recruit to support the data migration for the later stages of the programme. Key Responsibilities Core Data Engineer responsibilities for the Transform Data project and associated development work, including: Advising and assisting in the creation of a data cleansing and migration environment using tools within the Microsoft Fabric platform, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Dataflow Gen2, Synapse, SQL Endpoints, ADO Pipelines and Power BI. Advising and contributing to high level migration approach with both the project and the supplier base. Leading the development of the migration solution based on business instruction. Including transformation, cleansing/remediation, unit testing and migration of data to to-be state. Feeding back through the relevant channels any issues on received instructions and following project channels to log, monitor and resolve issues. Advising, demonstrating, and training where applicable, other users in the use of the migration platform. Maintaining clear progress reporting channels to Project team. Generally aligning with broader project aims, both short and long term when these may arise. Utilise project preferred methods to clearly document all decisions and project made. Align with Corporate and legal responsibilities regarding data protection Required Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric tools, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Dataflow Gen2, Synapse, SQL Endpoints, ADO Pipelines, and Power BI. Strong understanding of data migration, cleansing, and transformation processes and programmes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills for advising and training users. Ability to document processes and decisions clearly and concisely. Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance requirements. Experience in leading data migration projects. Familiarity with project management methodologies. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and suppliers.
