Senior Data Engineer - London (Mostly Remote) - Automotive

A leading company operating in the connected car and mobility services industry are on the lookout for a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data integration and processing
• Transform our existing data lake into an organised, efficient system
• Work closely with the data science team to format and prepare data for predictive analytics
• Implement and manage ETL processes using AWS tools such as Glue and QuickSight
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and reduce costs
• Ensure data governance and compliance with GDPR requirements
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team on cloud and Terraform tasks
• Independently manage projects, providing full-cycle solutions from conception to deployment

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong emphasis on building infrastructure from scratch
• Expertise in AWS ecosystem and tools (e.g., Glue, QuickSight)
• Proficiency in Python and Java
• Experience with data lakes and data pipelines
• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools such as Apache Airflow (experience with Kafka is a plus)
• Familiarity with data governance, particularly GDPR compliance
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suitable for working with a small, agile team
