Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to drive the design and delivery of high-quality, reliable data solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of modern data engineering best practices, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role will be based from our London City office and we be looking for someone to be on site two days a week with the rest being hybrid working from home. How you'll make an impact SQL Server Proficiency: A strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Structured Query Language (SQL) is crucial. The role requires working with databases, querying data, and optimizing performance. Data Warehouses & Data Modelling: Strong experience with data warehouse and modelling concepts is essential for designing efficient and effective database structures. Understanding relationships, normalization, and denormalization is expected. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Pipelines: Experience with ETL (and ELT) processes is vital. The role is responsible for extracting data from various sources, transforming it, and loading it into data warehouses, etc. Problem-Solving Skills: As a data engineer, the role will encounter data discrepancies, performance issues, and user queries. Strong problem-solving abilities are essential. Security Awareness: Understanding data security principles and compliance (such as GDPR) is crucial. This role handles corporate sensitive data and information. Insurance Industry Knowledge: Required to understand the nuances and specific needs of the insurance industry. About You Previous experience gained working as a Senior Data Engineer in the insurance industry. Knowledge of technologies such as Snowflake Data Cloud, with supporting technologies and tools, including FiveTran, DBT, Dataiku, Collibra (preferable for not essential). Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including Synapse and DevOps. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including Master Data Services, SSIS, SSAS & SSRS. Knowledge of supporting tools/languages including Python & C# would be preferrable Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
