Role Overview

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Business Quality Control Team here at Royal London.This position is responsible for leading complex data analysis, developing analytical methodologies and data visualisations, and providing strategic insights to support critical business decisions. The role combines deep analytical expertise, ensuring the highest standards of data quality, accuracy, and integrity across the organisation. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the design, development, production and ongoing maintenance of our Business Quality dashboards. This role will also be instrumental in developing and refining processes using and transforming complex datasets into actionable business insight across our Business Quality and Credit Management Teams.

 

The Team

The Business Quality Team is responsible for monitoring commercial and customer risks related to distributor behaviour, across both our Protection and Pensions business and making effective decisions to manage our risk exposure. The team use internal and external data and insight to influence and challenge advisers to deliver the best outcomes for our customers, in line with Consumer Duty and to ensure the business being written through our distributors is commercially viable. In addition, we work closely with our Distribution colleagues and provide them with timely and relevant MI to support their adviser conversations.

 

 

About the role

 

  • Lead and define on the data methodology underpinning the Business Quality Dashboards and wider Business Quality Control requests
  • Production of the Business Quality dashboards and additional Business Quality Control reporting
  • Ensure Business Quality MI meets high standards of data quality requirements
  • Providing SME support to non-technical users on Business Quality MI
  • Document data methodology for all data tools developed within the Business Quality Control Team
  • Lead the development of the dashboards to equip needs of Business Quality Team and wider stakeholders
  • Define and develop strategic data tools to inform our Business Quality Control processes and decision-making
  • Evaluate critical business processes and develop data-driven improvement strategies
  • Carry out data quality assessments and improvement initiatives relating to our Business Quality and Credit Management MI
  • Data-driven business process optimisation reviews
  • Development of analytical models and frameworks to support automated control automation

 

 

About you

 

  • Proven expertise in advanced data analysis and manipulating large datasets (preferably in financial services)
  • Experience leading analytical projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of data lifecycle management and governance
  • Advanced proficiency in data manipulation and visualisation tools including Excel, VBA, Python, R, Power BI and SQL
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into strategic business recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Analytical leadership style with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving data-informed decision-making
  • Resilient and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrates a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Advocates for innovation and continuous improvement in data analysis practices
