CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The world’s economy looks to CDP as the gold standard of environmental reporting with the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action. In 2024 more than 24,000 companies, representing around 70% of the global market capitalization, and 1000 Cities, States and Regions disclosed their environmental impact data through CDP. In 2023 CDP underwent a complete digital transformation, seeing us transition the annual disclosure cycle from a paper-based, human-intensive and vendor-dependent stack, to a completely in-house developed, modernised and scalable product that will revolutionise the customer-experience for both external and internal users.
About the Data Analytics Team
The role sits within the Data Analytic team which comprise of more than 20 analysts working across CDP to deliver a series or innovative data products and data analytical services for internal and external stakeholders including Capital Markets, Cities, States and Regions and Supply Chain clients. Along with the team, you will help develop and deliver exciting analytical projects as well new data products.
We are hiring a senior analyst role to support our impact oriented analytical offerings. The role will work on developing and operationalising exciting metrics and insights across impact areas including climate, forest, biodiversity, plastics & water. You will be applying your technical skills in SQL and Python to lay a single source of truth metrics foundation, which you will then turn into novel and informative self-service PowerBI insights suites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop cloud-based data product scripts and pipelines using SQL, PySpark & Notebooks.
- Create clear and impactful single-source-of-truth insights and visualizations.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of data feeding into the data products.
- Effectively manage projects and workflows in Azure DevOps.
- Develop and operationalise KPIs across a variety of impact areas and functions.
- Lead on statistical modelling activities - regression, forecasting, time-series analysis.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, plan/manage the backlog and test features.
We would like to see the following skills and experience:
- Advanced ability to code within SQL, Python, PySpark and Notebooks.
- At least 3 years of applied experience with data analytics and/or data science.
- A strong background in developing applied statistical modelling and/or machine learning
- Excellent data visualization skills using Power BI or similar tools.
- Experience working with cloud computing in Azure or similar platforms.
- Capable of working collaboratively with Git and DevOps.
- Experience managing several projects/deliveries simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to convey complex methodology and concepts to non-data experts in English.
- Proven experience communicating with stakeholders and managing project expectations.
- Great attention to detail and commitment to achieving high standards.
- Domain expertise in fields related to environmental science/governance/management is considered a big plus.
- A good understanding of GHG accounting methods and sustainability data.
This is a permanent, full-time role based either at the CDP office in London or the CDP office in Berlin, reporting to the Squad Lead: Impact Intelligence.
Salary and benefits:
£52,000 - £60,000 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
