Job Summary

Do you want to work on cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Knowledge Graphs (KGs), and Deep Learning (DL) research and build products that will impact millions of users across the globe?

The Huawei Consumer Cloud service (CBG Cloud) team is seeking highly skilled and motivated Research Scientists/Engineers with expertise in LLMs, NLP, Knowledge Graphs and Agents.

In this role, you will bring both academic and industrial research knowledge to help build LLMs-driven algorithms or frameworks for diverse content understanding and generation tasks, such as KGs construction and completion, LLMs as agents, information extraction for narrative understanding (e.g. novels) and data augmentation etc. The CBG Cloud team at London Research Centre is committed to providing a full-scenario, high-quality smart life experience for hundreds of millions of users by enhancing the AI abilities in our products like Huawei Video, Music, Reading, Browser and Game, and we would like you to help us achieve this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to solve challenges and conduct cutting-edge applied research relating to our businesses, i.e. Video, Music, Reading, Browser, and Game.
  • Carry out literature review and stay updated on the state-of-the-art frameworks or models regarding LLMs, NLP, Knowledge Graphs, Agent and ML/DL.
  • Design, develop, and implement AI/ML solutions to support research projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct experiments on LLMs fine-tuning, prompting, model deployment, evaluation etc., and analyse results, and iterate on solutions to improve performance, effectiveness and robustness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Contribute to research publications, presentations, and intellectual property development as appropriate.

Person Specification:

List details of Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed to do the job:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics and Engineering or related subjects; PhD degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional/academic experience in AI/ML/DL/NLP system development, with a strong emphasis on Python.
  • Experience with LLMs, especially LLMs training, fine-tuning and application are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in relevant libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, Huggingface, etc.
  • A track record of research excellence, with publications in reputable journals or conferences being a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly. A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and contributing positively to team dynamics.
