Overview of job

Data is central to how we deliver an exceptional experience for our audiences and our clients, and for how we build and extend our competitive advantage. 

The Data Team have been on a journey over the last year, bringing together disparate teams into one data function. As part of that journey, we have recently created 3 distinct cross – functional squads to enable focus on core business problems, allowing a Product Manager to be theprimary point of contact for these business problems.

As a Product Manager for Data, you will report directly into the Head of Product (Data) and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation's data strategy within advertiser, content and consumer areas. You will be at the forefront of driving innovation, ensuring data integrity, and optimising data-driven decision-making processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses a deep understanding of data, technologiesand a passion for stakeholder management.

Measures of success

With requests coming in from across the business, ensure the most valuable products are being worked on to elevate data utilisation and insights generation through self – serve methods and to alleviate the pressure of ad hoc requests.

Work alongside the data platform working group to ensure the right data sets are being ingested into the data platform to provide the greatest benefit across most use cases. 

Become the primary contact for many teams around the business including Global Player, DAX, Insights, Data Strategy and more, grow and manage the stakeholder relationships.

Be able to communicate reliances and dependencies across teams / the business and methodologies put in place to mitigate them.

Demonstrate impact of data platform by understandingbusiness needs from stakeholders and build into core use cases. Create innovative solutions tackling improved efficiency and enhanced decision-making ability

Responsibilities of the role

Strategic vision: Working closely with the Head of Product, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering to develop and articulate a strategic vision for the areas pertaining to the squads this role will own. Create a short, medium and long term roadmap outlining how it will come to life across multiple quarters. 

Product development:Lead the end-to-end product development lifecyclefor a range of areas pulling together professionals from all functions within the data team and working in collaboration with the data platform team to ensure robust data with longevity and a range of use cases.

Stakeholder Management:Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists and analysts. Communicate effectively to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions

What you will need

Experience:5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data platforms, analytics, or related areas

Technical proficiency:Strong technical understanding of data platforms, databases, and data processing technologies but also able to build the bridge between engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Communication:Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Strategic Thinking:Ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall business strategy. Experience developing and executing product roadmaps aligned with organisational goals

Adaptability:Thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate adaptability to evolving priorities and challenges
