Join us as a Principal Noise and Vibration Engineer position at our site in Rosyth where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and many of the industry’s most brilliant minds. The Role QinetiQ Maritime Land and Weapons operates and manages a variety of measurement facilities (sea ranges) throughout the UK and internationally, for the test and evaluation of acoustic stealth for naval ships and submarines. There is an exciting opportunity to help lead a high performing team of engineers and data analysts, including subject matter experts, in delivering critical test and evaluation in the field of vibro-acoustics. You will be an integral part of the Noise and Vibration (N&V) Team, based at QinetiQ Rosyth Aquarius Court, by helping to conduct a diverse range of field measurements as well as performing data analysis, modelling and technical report writing within the office and laboratory. Day-to-day, you will: Act as the principal technical subject matter expert in the R&D domain and represent the company at customer meetings, stakeholder forums, etc. Lead technical innovation and research related to the development of new technologies (algorithms, models and databases) to continually develop the Noise and Vibration Team capability offering. Strengthen current international collaboration and engagement with academia and seek out new mutually beneficial partnerships. Collaborate closely with other similar synergy disciplines across QinetiQ. Provide technical leadership for large scale and high complexity Noise and Vibration projects Within this role, you will be able to work around 25% from home depending on projects. You will also have the opportunity to work compressed hours. Essential experience of the Principal Noise and Vibration Engineer: The Principal Noise and Vibration Engineer must have substantial experience in a similar domain. Qualifications for the Acoustics Lead: You must have an Undergraduate degree in an engineering, maths, science or related technical subject.
