About the role

Our Data & ML team powers growth and innovation at Storio. We\'re building platforms that turn data into insights, helping our teams make great decisions and create personalized experiences for customers. As a Principal Data Engineer, you\'ll be key to this work. You\'ll help us simplify our legacy systems and drive technical excellence in our growing team. You’ll be building a data platform that gives the business trustable and usable data.


How you embrace curiosity daily

  • You\'ll collaborate with a cross-functional team, working on strategy and roadmaps.
  • You\'ll define and champion the technical principles that raise the bar for our data platform.
  • You\'ll be accountable for the health of your team’s codebase and drive continuous improvements.
  • You\'ll lead the technical design for complex projects, ensuring successful and timely implementation.
  • You\'ll coach and mentor data and analytics engineers on best practices.
  • You\'ll influence key decisions across our data and ML engineering teams.

  • You will help us rebuild a platform that supports a decentralized data model.
  • You will accelerate data adoption throughout the business.
  • You\'ll drive continuous improvement on key metrics like business value, cost efficiency, and speed.
  • You\'ll deliver high-quality software through your own work and by fostering a feedback culture.
  • You\'ll balance short-term commercial impact with building strong long-term foundations.
  • You\'ll help us provide trustable and usable data that meets business needs.
What you bring to the team
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms.
  • A proven ability to lead technical design and architecture discussions.
  • A deep understanding of data engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages like SQL and programming languages like Python.
  • Experience with cloud-based data services and software development best practices like Git and CI/CD.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to explain complex technical ideas to anyone.
  • The ability to influence change beyond your immediate team.
What sets you apart
  • Experience with different data architectures like Data Lakehouse or Data Mesh.
  • Familiarity with data security principles and practices.
  • Experience in the e-commerce domain.
