Position: Junior Packaging Technologist

Location: Eastleigh, Southampton

Salary: £28k

What they are looking for in a Junior Packaging Technologist:

Have Problem-Solving skills as these will be useful and used on a regular basis.
Have a great attention to detail and strength of character to challenge the status quo.
Be comfortable with multi-tasking; we look after 50,000 individual products and have 100s of projects.
Assist in the execution and delivery of Kingfisher own brand packaging projects across all categories, providing Packaging Engineers with support on their projects.
Be committed to working…at the facility at least 3-4 days every week.
Support the Sustainability team to collect vendor packaging data.
Give analytical support to the Packaging Sustainability Data Analyst to provide stakeholders with vendor performance visibility and sustainability tracking.
Liaise cross functionally to ensure we secure and provide timely, accurate and insightful data to support all upcoming projects or business critical requirements.
Gathering data on current and historic pack performance, helping investigate abnormalities in data with the category Packaging Engineers, Our Vendors and Sustainability team.
Actively listen and relate to others in an accepting and respectful manner, values difference and builds rapport.
Adapts their communication style and approach as appropriate, using effective diplomacy when and where required.
Works co-operatively, actively building cohesive relationships within and across teams (internally or externally).Skills & Experience required for a Junior Packaging Technologist:

Desirable to have science or maths-based A Levels, BTEC or HND qualifications but not a requirement for the role.
Maybe you have experience within packaging production, packaging material manufacturing or a very different busy production facility or environment.
Maybe you have some experience as a Packaging Technologist in either the retail or packaging sectors.
You have a good understanding of packaging processes and materials across many packaging formats.
A working knowledge of print processes & 'Print quality Management' is desirable.
Strong analytical skills, need the capacity to work with large amounts of data, extract relevant information and draw logical conclusions.
You might have experience in CAD (ArtiosCAD/CAPE) or packaging prototyping skills if not, we can teach you!
You can talk about the Packaging Industry, types of Packaging and processes, packaging materials and trends.What we offer.
