We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in data science, supporting senior team members in solving complex business challenges through advanced analytics, machine learning, and algorithm development.
Your Role
As a Junior Data Scientist, you’ll work closely with experienced team members on tasks that include researching new methodologies, writing Python code, and applying machine learning techniques. You’ll assist in developing and validating models, analyzing data, and building tools that empower Altenar’s decision-making. This role is designed to provide exposure to advanced concepts while building a strong foundation for your career.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine your skills in Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
Support the development of machine learning models and algorithms, assisting in testing and validation processes.
Contribute to research efforts by exploring and applying the latest data science techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and improve data collection and integration strategies.
Assist in creating dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to visualize insights for stakeholders.
Participate in the design, testing, and documentation of scalable data services and tools.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience with Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for data analysis.
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and an eagerness to expand your skills.
Strong foundation in math and statistics (Degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field).
Familiarity with tools like Jupyter Notebooks or similar.
Interest in working collaboratively with senior team members on data-driven solutions.
Motivated, self-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred but Not Required
Exposure to BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Metabase, Tableau).
Familiarity with NoSQL databases and ETL processes.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
