The Opportunity:

Clarion Events is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Data Integration Engineer (Azure Focus) to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the development team to build and maintain data integrations within our Azure-based data platform. Your primary responsibility will be developing Python-based solutions to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure, leveraging tools such as Azure Synapse and Azure Functions. You will also work closely with internal teams and vendors to understand integration requirements, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and optimize data pipelines for enhanced efficiency and scalability within the Azure environment.

This role provides an excellent platform for learning and skill development, as you will be working alongside experienced engineers and architects, gaining valuable experience in Azure technologies and data integration best practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Building and Maintaining Azure-Based Integrations: Collaborating with the development team to design, implement, and maintain integrations within an Azure-based data platform, focusing on services such as Azure Synapse & Data Factory
• ETL Development in Azure: Developing Connector & Python-based ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions to ingest data from various sources into the Azure data platform.
• Data Integration Pipelines: Assisting in creating and optimising data workflows and pipelines in Azure
• Data Modelling and Mapping: Supporting the data integration process by performing data mapping and ensuring accurate data flow within the Azure ecosystem.
• Collaboration with Teams and Vendors: Working closely with internal teams, including data engineers and vendors, to understand requirements and deliver solutions on the Azure platform.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identifying and resolving data integration issues, ensuring the consistency and quality of data ingested into Azure.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring the performance of data pipelines
• Stay Updated with Azure Tools: Keeping up with the latest features and tools in the Azure data integration ecosystem, ensuring best practices in development and deployment.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Contributing to the documentation of integration workflows and sharing knowledge with team members.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

• Proficiency in Python: Strong Python programming skills, particularly for automating and managing data workflows.
• Azure Integration Tools: Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Functions, and other Azure services related to data integration.
• ETL Processes: Experience in designing ETL workflows, with an understanding of how to implement them in Azure.
• APIs and Web Services: Basic understanding of APIs (e.g., RESTful APIs) and data exchange formats such as JSON and XML.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and contribute to solving integration challenges.
• Attention to Detail: A focus on data quality, integrity, and ensuring the accuracy of data pipelines.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues within the data integration process.
