Junior Data Engineer - Research & Technology

This role supports the development and maintenance of a scalable data platform underpinning private equity investment activity across EMEA. Working closely with investment teams, you will build and optimise data pipelines, automate workflows, and transform fragmented market and real estate data into structured intelligence that informs underwriting, portfolio strategy, and capital allocation decisions.


Role Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, managing large data sets from internal and external sources.
  • Develop and optimise ETL processes using AWS, SQL, and modern cloud technologies.
  • Manage API integrations and automate data ingestion and transformation workflows.
  • Improve infrastructure scalability, performance, and data delivery processes.
  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards (e.g., Tableau) to generate actionable business insights.
  • Implement data quality checks and governance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with investment, asset management, and finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Role Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience in data engineering or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with AWS and data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and interest in investment and real estate markets.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a 24-hour coding assessment as part of the selection process.
