We now have opportunities within our Data Engineering team for graduates with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field to join our structured graduate trainee programme. These opportunities will be suitable for applicants who will be graduating this year and looking to work in a hybrid environment from home and our Glasgow office. Full structured training / mentoring will be offered along with working towards industry recognised qualifications.

We will be conducting an open day on Tuesday 25th March in our Buchanan Street office. Details of the open day will follow an initial discussion upon application.

Here’s what the role looks like: 

Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data.​ Collaborate with analysts to understand data requirements and ensure data availability.​ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability issues.​ Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity.​ Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of data engineering best practices.​ Document data workflows, processes, and infrastructure.

Requirements

Here are the key skills and experience relevant to this role:  

Qualifications:​Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.​ Basic knowledge of SQL.​ Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.​ Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.​ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.​ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.​ ​ Preferred Skills:​ Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.​ Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.​ Exposure to data visualisation tools like Power BI.
