Lead Data Engineer - UK Remote

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Data Engineer to contribute to an innovative new SaaS product!

We are partnering with a cutting-edge performance digital marketing agency that has developed revolutionary software to eliminate wasted spend.

As a key member of a small yet highly skilled engineering team, you will design, develop, maintain, and deliver scalable data pipeline solutions with excellence.

What will you do!

  • Design, develop, maintain, and deliver data pipeline solutions in line with the data architecture vision to high standards and appropriate scale. 
  • System modelling, data analysis and data testing to support project goals.
  • Development, maintenance, and delivery of data storage and management solutions to acceptable standards.
  • Ensure client onboarding solutions are timely, robust and available to defined standards.
  • Ensure data integrity is managed and kept to a high standard.

What you will need!

  • Proven ability implementing and maintaining the technical components of common data solutions (Databases, Data Formats, Data Management)
  • Experience with data architecting and data governance
  • Experience with all the following relevant technologies:-
    • Python,
    • SQL/NoSQL
    • Data Warehousing
    • ETL Tools and Process development
    • Machine Learning principles
    • Distributed Systems (Spark/Hadoop)
    • Scheduling and orchestration tools
  • Mentored and trained junior Data Engineers
  • Comfortable handling up to 5 direct reports
  • Seen as go to person to wider business for anything related to their domain
  • Tactical advisor - opinions and advice often sought.

Nice to have:

  • Druid - training will be provided!
  • Azure Cloud technology
  • C#, TypeScript
  • Software Development and Delivery skills (including coding standards, quality, testing, CI/CD)
  • Scrum Agile Framework
