Role Overview:We are lookingfor an IT Environments Manager who will play a critical role in thesuccess of our software development lifecycle, particularlyfocusing on the management of software releases and the maintenanceof our AWS environments. In this position, you will be responsiblefor overseeing the entire release process, ensuring that softwaredeployments are executed smoothly and efficiently, aligning withthe company's strategic goals. Your expertise in AWS will becrucial in managing and optimizing cloud environments, ensuringthey are secure, scalable, and dependable.Your role involves a deepunderstanding of both the technical and business aspects ofsoftware releases. You will collaborate closely with our DevOps,Solution Architects, Development and Application Support Teams tosupport and improve the overall quality of software developmentthroughout the entire lifecycle, synchronizing efforts to ensurethat software is released on time, within budget, and with thehighest quality. You will also be responsible for identifyingand mitigating risks associated with software releases andenvironment management. By implementing best practices andmaintaining rigorous documentation, you will ensure that therelease and environment processes are transparent, repeatable, andefficient. Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain consolidatedviews of the status, availability, capacity, forecasted demand andfulfilment plans for environments and toolsEstimate, plan and tracktasks and deliver these against agreed cost, schedule and qualitylevelsTrack changes to the environments whilst utilising a robustdedicated change management process for the test environments thatlinks to the production change processesDefine and manage a roadmapand plan to keep our capability aligned to the forecasted demandand realise improvement opportunities Develop, monitor andenforce release management processes and policies to ensure thesmooth and successful release of software deploymentsAct as thegatekeeper to the production environment, ensuring conformance toChange Management and operational processes/procedures, releaseintegration testing and production validationDeveloping andmaintaining the forward plan of release schedules across theorganisation and its subcontractorsCollaboration and co-ordinationwith the service delivery and support teams for the day-to-daymanagement of environments and tools, as well as progression ofsoftware releasesDeveloping and implementing strategies to optimiseAWS cloud usage and identify cost-saving opportunitiesIdentify andrealise opportunities that simplify and automate the activitieswhich are needed to provision, configure and manage environmentsand toolsIdentify technical and obsolescence risks which willimpact the availability/supportability of environments and toolsand take ownership of mitigating these risksEnsure environments andtools management practices align with agreed configurationmanagement practices and wider disaster recovery and businesscontinuity plansMaintain awareness of industry best practice,standards and trends to inform environment management strategy,processes, practices and technologiesManagement of licensedsoftware products in line with the wider business policies andprocesses To support and deputise for the Change ManagerSkillsRequired:Experience within Environments Management, ChangeManagement and Release Management adopting an ITIL basedframeworkChange and Release Management understanding of both Agileand Waterfall project releasesExcellent communication andleadership skills with experience managing an effective, end-to-endplatform deployment service across development, test and productionteams.Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multipleprojects with competing demandsProven ability to build and managerelationships with stakeholders across all levels of anorganisationBe able to work autonomously and as part of a team toachieve day to day objectives with significant results onoperational deliverables To be innovative and continuouslylooking to improve processes through leveraging the latest toolsand technologies available in AWSDriving the adoption of CI/CDmethodologies, automating processes and fostering a culture ofcontinuous improvement Skills Desired:ITIL certificationwithin Release ManagementProject Management certificationAWS orCloud experience Clearance Requirements: Pre-screening toStart BPSSClearance for Role SCMust possess or be able to obtainSecurity Check (SC) clearanceAre you ready to make an impact?
