IT Asset Engineer

Leidos is seeking an IT Asset Engineer with strong experience in managing and optimizing IT asset inventories for the UK MOD. The IT Asset Engineer will be responsible for all IT asset documentation, due diligence activities, interfacing with other departments to maintain alignment and resolve issues, and managing key IT asset resources.

You will be an integral member of the IT asset management team, responsible for developing and delivering optimized IT asset management strategies in alignment with ITIL framework v3/v4. You will interface seamlessly with other IT and engineering teams, as well as with the customer, to ensure robust IT asset management.
You must be adept in managing a dynamic, collaborative, and delivery-focused environment. Your prior experience in the Defence sector, particularly in IT-centric UK MOD programmes, will be a valuable asset. Additionally, your knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) will allow you to contribute effectively in an agile setting.
Your role and responsibilities
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in managing hardware, software, and network components.
ITIL Alignment: Deep understanding of ITIL framework v3/v4 for seamless integration of IT asset management processes.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and identify asset management requirements from customer documentation such as URD, SRD, SOW, or SOR.
Feasibility Assessment: Skills to assess the feasibility of meeting asset management requirements against technical designs and highlight potential issues.
Supportability Analysis: Conduct thorough supportability analysis to influence system design and resource allocation.
Lifecycle Cost Management: Develop and control a Total Cost of Ownership / Life Cycle Cost (TCO/LCC) model.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure precise documentation and regular reporting on asset management activities.
Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) to efficiently work within an agile environment.
Asset Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT assets, ensuring compliance with ITIL standards.
Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence activities to ensure full lifecycle compliance and efficiency of IT asset management.
Inter-departmental Coordination: Interface with other departments to ensure alignment and resolve issues promptly.
Monitoring and Reporting: Manage, monitor, and report on the status of the IT asset management program.
Optimization: Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the IT asset inventory and lifecycle management.
Stakeholder Interaction: Interface with customer and stakeholders to ensure that requirements are met and issues are addressed efficiently.
