In addition to setting an exciting and innovative strategy, the Head of Profession will represent Roke at media and marketing events. Roke are a leading technology & engineering company with clients spanning National Security, Defence and Industry 4.0 through our Futures business and Intelligence as a Service. You will work alongside our customers to solve their complex and unique challenges. To fulfil this challenging role, the Head of Profession will be a world class professional with an established reputation as an expert in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence. Whilst academically strong, the Head of Profession will demonstrate deep expertise in transforming operations and businesses through the adoption of Artificial Intelligence. The Head of Profession will complement their deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence with a strong systems engineering mindset focussed on solutions to real Client problems. The Head of Profession is a senior position within Roke that brings together technical leadership, career strategies, best practice and innovation, providing leadership in all these topics across the entirety of the business. The position is a direct (fee-earning) role and as a consequence there is an expectation that the successful candidate will balance their productivity as follows: 90% contribution to Head of Profession role 10% contribution to customer funded project work depending on other (existing) commitments At Roke, every individual counts. Primary Job Purpose Act as the role model for the data science, artificial intelligence & machine learning professions. More junior engineers will aspire to achieve this role. The Head of Profession will excite and motivate the technical community through their leadership and contribution. To work with Innovation Leaders and Business Units to shape development of current and future capabilities for epics, campaigns, products and services. To identify, qualify and sponsor innovation opportunities that align with our capabilities and strategy. To act as an interface between key stakeholders Innovation Director, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation Leaders, Heads of Engineering, Head of Technical Delivery, Human Resources, MARCOMMS and the Technical Community. To promote and build the Roke brand so customers value our honesty and integrity. As our next Head of Profession AI, ML & Data Science , you will demonstrate the following: Knowledge, Skills & Experience A world class Artificial Intelligence specialist as evidenced by a portfolio of conference presentations, media activity and publications. A proven track record driving business development through deep expertise in the application of Artificial Intelligence in real operational solutions. Experience defining winning bid propositions that differentiate proposals through the innovative use of Artificial Intelligence. Experience defining Artificial Intelligence strategies that enable Clients to exploit Artificial Intelligence for business benefit and the ability to lead the Client s leadership in the adoption of those strategies. Demonstrable experience delivering Artificial Intelligence solutions through the full project lifecycle from proposal to Client acceptance and operational use. Detailed knowledge of sector operations, organisations and structures and how to align them to products and services. Experience in providing thought leadership and guidance to key stakeholders. Experience in developing complex user requirements and translating them into technical or support requirements. Experience of working in, and managing, agile teams and delivering complexity at pace. Where you ll work ROMSEY - Alongside hybrid and flexible working options, you ll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.
