Role: Application Support Developer

Location: This role Hybrid based at our Bristol location in UK 2-3 days per week

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000

Experience: Looking for 0 to 2 years' experience post-grad (i.e. from fresh grad to 2 years-ish).

We ae looking to hire an Application Support Developer to join our innovative team. Specializing in IoT and big data analytics, we provide remote monitoring systems for the maritime and industrial sectors, with customers around the globe. This new pivotal role will provide technical assistance and support for our in-house developed software applications, troubleshooting issues, fixing bugs, and implementing enhancements. You will be the bridge between developers and our customers.

My client works on a IOT product hardware that sits on a boat and gathers data, Interfacing in in C C++, LINUX based systems like a raspberry Pi.

They have many boats online and need support to bring them online and fix bugs in the software

The data is delivered to the cloud via azure and data is written in Python and C++ and this is what they need support with.

In 2 years you would be in SW team after this 2 years and they would replace you with another graduate that you will train and support

There is electronics and electrical things on the boat so experience with electronics is a bonus but not a MUST.

Your Key Responsibilities will be.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving technical issues with software applications, including bugs, performance problems, and integration issues.
Technical Support: Providing technical assistance to users, both internal and external, through our support ticketing system.
Application Maintenance: Ensuring applications are running smoothly and efficiently, including performing updates, patches, and configurations.
Enhancements and Improvements: Identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to applications, based on user feedback and performance data.
Documentation: Maintaining and updating technical documentation, including procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Collaboration: Working closely with developers to report issues, provide feedback, and ensure applications meet user needs.
Customer Onboarding: Updating customer configs and rolling out. Creation, updating and running Python scripts.

You will be customer-focused with a strong ability to engage effectively with customers, both internally and externally. You will have a passion for programming, are self-motivated, eager to learn, and embrace innovative solutions. This role will enable a career pathway towards full software development.

Essential Experience / Qualifications / Educational attainments

Essential

Python
Linux/Bash
C/C++ would be a bonus!
Experience in version control (e.g. Git/Bitbucket)
Degree in a technical subject such as computer science/engineering etc.
