Job Position: Graduate Finance Data Engineer

Location: Bridgend, South Wales  

Starting Salary: £25,000  

Application Requirements:  

  • Minimum 2:1 University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related degree, with a desire to work as a Data Professional within a Finance team.
  • Knowledge of Excel, SQL and PowerBI. (Knowledge of Snowflake would be advantageous).
  • Awareness of Data Modelling
  • Right to work in the UK unsponsored for the duration of the programme.  
  • Commuting distance of Bridgend and a desire to remain in the area long-term. Must be able to be on site a minimum of three days a week. Relocation support is available for those not living within commuting distance.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of our clients who are a global, blue-chip specialist insurance firm, with a rapidly growing team in Bridgend, South Wales. Our client is in need of two Data Engineers to work in their Finance Data & Reporting (FD&R) Product Team. The successful candidate should have a background/degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and want to build a career as a Data professional within this space.

Day To Day Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with Finance stakeholders, gathering requirements and creating user stories
  • Building and optimising Power BI reports in line with stakeholder requirements
  • Querying and transforming data from SQL Server and Snowflake
  • Transforming data using PowerQuery
  • Modelling data into STAR schemas
