Graduate Data Analyst

Location: London (Piccadilly Circus/Green Park)

Hours: 7.5hrs (Flexibility and extra hours when required)

Shifts: Between 7:30am – 6:00pm

Reporting to: Head of Technology

The core responsibilities include reconciling data between systems & administering data systems. Working with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to maintain and update data across systems and investigate any data discrepancies or anomalies. This role will also be responsible for running daily and monthly BAU data processes. This role is a key point of contact for data related queries and issues from other business units, so communication skills are key to be able to work through and deal with issues.

The team is also undergoing a large project to develop a new company wide data warehouse, which the candidate will be expected to help with, by helping the wider team to collect and understand requirements, as well as assisting with technical development of tables, scripts and visualisations to expand the firm’s data capabilities.

The role is based in the London office supporting the UK, Europe, Singapore and US offices. The role sits within the IT department and will be high pressured at times so it is fundamental that the candidate can deal with pressure, The candidate will be a self-starter and will support staff in person and remotely.

The successful candidate will be a recent STEM graduate with a keen interest in data and investment. They will provide key operational data support to the business. It is important to be a fast learner, but no prior knowledge or experience is required, just a clear desire and aptitude for working with data. Knowledge of python and SQL is a plus.

Please note this role operates a shift pattern between 7:30am – 6:00pm

Main Responsibilities in the role:

Supporting data applications including but not limited to:

Bloomberg

Portia and/or IBOR systems

Custodian applications/systems

FactSet

Supporting in-house systems:

SQL Databases

Python automation

Excel Spreadsheets

SharePoint

Process and reconcile data between systems/clients/custodians/internally.

Assisting with the development of a new data warehouse:

Understanding and collating business reporting requirements.

Assisting with building new databases and their constituent tables.

Use of python & ETL tools to develop ingestion, cleaning & validation of data.

Produce Documentation and Reports as new processes are created.

Being a key point of contact for ad-hoc data related queries:

Ability to investigate and resolve data and user queries/issues.

Dealing with 3rd Party vendors to resolve issues/queries.

Ability to work with users to identify issues and gather requirements.

Manage user expectations and be able to work under pressure.

Assist/manage with the annual IT SOC1 and IT Audits.

The candidate:

Degree educated in a STEM field.

Pro-active, logical and methodical thinker.

Good communication, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to deal with large amounts of data to a high degree of accuracy.

Strong mathematical ability with high level of accuracy.

Ability and desire to work with new software and applications.

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Good time management skills and able to work to deadlines.

Self-starter and well organised.

Team player willing to go the extra mile.

Knowledge of python & SQL, or a willingness to learn.

Foundational knowledge of database concepts & data modelling.
