Job Title:Excel Data Analyst

Location:London (Hybrid – with global team collaboration)

Salary:up to £55,000 + Benefits

Are you an Excel power user with a knack for automation and process improvement?

We’re hiring a proactive and technically skilledExcel Data Analystto join a growing team within a high-performing, globally-connected Insurance services organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to modernise internal tooling and play a hands-on role in streamlining processes across international teams. You’ll be a key player in evolving the way data is structured, analysed, and reported across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Clean, structure and analyse data from diverse sources
  • Apply statistical techniques to derive insights
  • Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and support data governance practices

Tooling & Automation

  • Build and maintain advanced Excel-based tools
  • Usemacros and VBAto automate manual workflows
  • Assist in integrating tools with databases and external systems
  • Support ongoing Power BI dashboard development

Project & Process Support

  • Coordinate small internal projects and user requirements
  • Assist in writing user stories, test cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Apply structured problem-solving (e.g. pyramid principle, hypothesis-led design)
  • Deliver user training and documentation for tools developed

Tech Stack & Tools:

  • AdvancedMicrosoft Excel(including Macros and VBA)
  • Power BI (desirable)
  • SQL/database integration (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with data lake or cloud-based tools is a bonus

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong Excel skills– confident in macros, complex formulas, and VBA
  • A proactive problem-solver who enjoys driving process efficiencies
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable working across functions and regions
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and accountable for your own deliverables
  • Experience in financial services or insurance is a plus
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is helpful but not essential
