full-time Director, Business Intelligence – Offensive Data and Research

supporting our

office. This role is responsible for leading Libro’s offensive data strategy, using data as a strategic asset for business growth. The role partners closely with defensive data and foundational data strategy leaders to guide Libro’s progressive data strategy. The role embraces research, advanced analytics and data insights to fuel innovation and elevate Libro’s Owner experience.

The role proactively builds strong relationships across various business units (Product, Platform, Experience, Marketing, Frontline, etc) and collaborates to seek new data sources, technologies, and ways to monetize data for business/revenue growth, and operational excellence. To achieve those objectives, the role leads and coaches a dynamic team of research, data insight and data science professionals to transform problem statements into actionable insight through effective engagement and communication. The Director, Business Intelligence – Offensive Data and Research is dedicated to building capabilities and data practices across teams that will support the increase of organizational data and insight access, speed of delivery and quality of research and analytical outputs.

The successful candidate will:

Lead in the Formation and Development of an Analytics Community of Practice that will facilitate advanced analytics and innovation in three key areas: using data for business growth (Offensive Data), ensuring data security and compliance (Defensive Data) and building a strong data infrastructure (Foundational Data).

Lead and develop Libro’s offensive data strategy with execution through various business units to focus on driving revenue, portfolio growth, and operational efficiency.

Oversee Libro’s research framework; including corporate studies, and expansion of customer experience (CX) and user experience (UX) research.

Oversee strategic third-party research and data partnerships, ensuring responsiveness to Libro’s research and analytics needs.

Lead a team of research, data insight, and data science professionals, promoting a collaborative culture centered on problem-formulation, problem-solving, and effective communication of data insights that get used.

Establish team data practices, creating risk mitigation strategies to adapt to evolving compliance, privacy and security requirements in line with the defensive data strategy.

Manage the budget for market research and analytics, ensuring optimal investment in tools to meet expanding business needs.

Champion a data-informed culture at Libro, fostering growth in data literacy and promoting an evidenced-based mindset.

Actively seek to investigate diverse data sources, including member data, market trends, and emerging technologies. Invest in corporate approved analytic tools to analyze and derive actionable insights from this data based on business needs.

Oversee the development, automation, and maintenance of growth-oriented business intelligence dashboards, utilizing as tools in the proactive generation of business insights, as well as empowering self-serve to end users.

Foster and champion the use of measurement approaches and frameworks to owner-facing and/or front-line initiatives (such as analysis of campaign performance) to improve organizational maturity in its use of data and analytics.

Embrace advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to uncover patterns and trends in data. Using these insights to develop personalized Owner experiences, create targeted marketing campaigns, and optimize operations.

Collaborate with product teams to develop new financial products and services informed by research and data insights.

Identify and lead the collaborative development of optimal analytical projects for supporting the business, which may include customized segmentation, Profitability and Lifetime Value-insights, and different predictive and machine learning models.

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in fields in consumer insights, business analytics, computer science, behavioural sciences, market research or a related discipline?

Do you have 7-10 years of previous experience leading a data insight, research or business analytics function or team?

Do you have experience leading and/or building a team of data insight and research professionals with complimentary skillsets across the data insight spectrum?

Do you have experience in business intelligence, data visualization and data science toolsets such as SQL, PowerBI, Python, R etc.?

Do you have experience working in consumer research including brand health, voice of the customer, and user research is an asset?

Experience in statistical methods, hypothesis testing and data science languages (R, Python) an asset.

A solid understanding of machine learning models and algorithms is an asset.

Experience working in an agile environment leading hybrid / decentralized team.
