About the role

We're therefore seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our growing AI centre of excellence, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AWS & Snowflake to develop impactful AI products & solutions.

Ideal candidates will have strong commercial experience, expertise in coding (Python, SQL), and a passion for driving innovation while collaborating across both technical and non-technical teams.

You’ll have the autonomy to identify new opportunities for growth and improvement, leveraging your existing skills while also expanding your expertise across diverse projects and technologies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and implement machine learning products in the cloud that improve client experiences and boosts colleague productivity in real-time.
  • Continuously monitor, retrain, and optimise existing models to ensure optimal performance.
  • Partner with product teams to identify key challenges and embed effective, data-driven solutions.
  • Expose model outputs via robust and scalable APIs, enabling seamless integration with other platforms.
  • Drive innovation through building Generative AI solutions
  • Play a pivotal role in advancing our technical capability, ensuring data is used intelligently and effectively.

About you

  • You have strong commercial experience in data, with a proven track record of solving complex problems and delivering tangible results.
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning solutions in the cloud (AWS experience preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in coding (Python) and SQL (Snowflake).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of building trust and fostering collaboration across teams while effectively challenging the status quo when necessary.
  • A skilled communicator, capable of translating complex data insights into actionable narratives tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly autonomous with the ability to manage your workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in using project management tools such as Confluence/JIRA.
  • Expertise in implementing statistical techniques in production-grade code, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis, manipulation, and distributed computing platforms (e.g., Hive, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with advanced machine learning methods, including neural networks, reinforcement learning, and other cutting-edge Gen AI approaches.
  • Skilled in API development and deployment, with a focus on performance and scalability.

This interview process will incorporate competency-based questions and an assessment of your technical knowledge and transferable skills.

Working Schedule

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
