Creative Assembly is looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data Platform Team in our studio based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.
This role is suitable for someone with at least two years of experience in a data engineering role. It offers the chance to grow technically and work on cutting edge projects that improve player experiences through the use of data.
Key Responsibilities

The data platform team ensures consistent, timely, and accurate data delivery to consumers, while maintaining scalable and efficient pipelines. Our stack consists of:
AWS Kinesis
Databricks DLT
PowerBI / Fabric
SQL Server
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Develop and maintain new and existing data pipelines.
Collaborate on the implementation and ingestion of game telemetry for new products.
Work with analysts, data scientists, and other data consumers to produce useful data models and efficient pipelines.
Empower high quality data governance by keeping accurate and clear documentation on our data sources, tables, and business logic.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential

A strong understanding of SQL along with demonstrated knowledge of modern data engineering processes, concepts and life-cycle
Experience using Python for data manipulation and transformation
Experience using modern data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake to do the above
Experience working with large-scale, event-driven data sets
Love gaming and is interested in supporting the game development process
Passionate about helping enable teams to transform data into valuable insights
Desirable

Experience working with enterprise data warehouse or data lake platforms
Experience working with a cloud platform such as AWS
Have used PySpark for data manipulation
Previous exposure to game or IoT telemetry events and how such data is generated
Knowledge of best practices involving data governance, privacy and security
An understanding of Git source control, CI/CD pipelines and how to implement them in a data engineering setting
