Job Description

Program Overview:

Verisk‘s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide you with real work experience, professional development, and networking opportunities. This is a full-time ( hours/ week) paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2025. Participation in the internship program requires that you are located near your assigned office (London) as the program is a hybrid work schedule, requiring you to be in the office at least 2 days per week.

We have opportunities for students interested in exploring careers in business around the globe. Verisk is a leading data analytics provider serving customers in insurance. Our team of nearly 7,000 helps customers make crucial decisions every day about risk—with greater precision, efficiency, and discipline.

Verisk Maplecroft’s datasets are the core of the company’s offering and your numeracy skills and attention to detail will help ensure that the datasets are delivered on time to clients with the highest level of accuracy. During the internship you will gain hands on experience of maintaining and updating Country Risk datasets. You will also have the opportunity to be creative through supporting the development of new risk indices based on the most advanced geospatial datasets. You may also use the quantitative skills and thematic knowledge from your education to support colleagues in the wider Research and Consulting teams with client work. You will report to the Head of Geospatial Risk Data.

Logical, analytical and mathematical skills. Adept at problem solving. Strong communication skills, both written and verbally. Passionate and enthusiastic approach to their work and ability to interact well with others at all levels within the business.. Professional and well-mannered. Ability to respond to instructions and deal with the given task in front of you.

We seek innovators who can add to our culture, contribute to our growth, and strive for excellence.

Experience

Enrolled Enrolled in the penultimate year of Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with a major in Climate & Sustainability, STEM, Geography, Economics, Data science, Organizational Resilience/Natural Catastrophe, Risk Modelling. A history of tackling projects with a quantitative lens, and a desire for data-driven insights.  Verisk serves the insurance vertical so an interest or past experience in insurance is helpful, though not required. Technical skill requirements vary depending on the position. Be sure to include your technical skillset on your resume, and we can go from there. At a minimum, you should have Microsoft excel as a foundation.

The Internship Program is not eligible for work visa sponsorship. If you will require work visa sponsorship after completing your degree, you do not meet the basic requirements of the summer intern role.

Online Assessments:Our team is eager to get to know you better. During this session, you’ll be asked a series of prerecorded questions to understand what motivates you and where your interests lie. This is your chance to make yourself stand out from the pack. Additionally, you will complete an Excel test to assess your proficiency with basic Excel functionalities.Final Live Virtual Interview:This round is to determine if Verisk’s culture is right for you. You'll have the opportunity to speak with several members of our business recruitment committee.Offer:Our committee will meet and discuss your candidacy. Should you be extended an offer, we will advise you of the specific role and location where your internship will take place.
