About the opportunity

Reporting to the Client Reporting and Data Analytics Manager, a fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Edinburgh team for someone with focused experience in data analytics to join our business at an exciting phase of growth and expansion as we seek to implement a new data platform, providing the successful applicant with an opportunity to shape the role alongside our data capabilities as their career develops.

This position is ideal for a recent graduate in a data-focused discipline or an experienced professional with up to three years of experience. The successful candidate will have strong skills in data visualisation and proficiency in Power BI, enabling them to effectively communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner.

The role is primarily based in our Edinburgh office. We operate a hybrid working policy with the opportunity to work from home one day a week.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the business and various stakeholders with data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualisation
  • Lead in building and maintaining dashboard and reporting outputs, providing data-driven insights
  • Gather and process financial and operational data from internal and external sources
  • Drive and automate data reporting and assist in streamlining data workflows
  • Perform both regular and ad hoc data analysis as required to support specific projects and processes
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data used for analysis and reporting outputs
  • Aid in the production of client reporting outputs
  • Support wider team objectives and needs during peak periods
  • Aid in the delivery and implementation of a new data platform solution

Required skills & experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Up to three years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within the financial services or private markets sector
  • Proficiency in Power BI and other data visualisation tools. Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Highly motivated, detail orientated with the ability to work with large datasets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people, work effectively in a fast-paced environment and keen to take on responsibility
