Background: Reporting to the Chief Investment Officerwithin a Global Family Office based in the GCC, the Data Analystwill extract data related to our investments from multiple sources,organise this data, process it, clean it, and validate it. Theobjective is to present this data in a clear, accurate andexhaustive manner in order to facilitate timely investmentdecisions. It is also of utmost importance to preserve theconfidentiality of this data. Roles & Responsibilities: -Enhancing data collection procedures in their DAPM system toinclude information that is relevant for building analytic systemsand managing our portfolio of investments - Processing, cleansing,and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis - Data miningusing state-of-the-art methods and extending company’s data withthird party sources of information when needed - Investigating andinterpreting data to identify actionable insights and opportunitiesfor improvement of the performance of our portfolio of investments- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner -Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clearand concise manner - Protecting data to ensure its confidentialityto the most stringent standards and divulging information on aneed-to-know basis only. Your profile - A bachelor’s or master’sdegree in data science, computer science, statistics or a relatedfield - 5+ years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years in thefinancial industry - Proficiency in programming languages such as Ror Java - Prior experience of the DAPM system a plus - Good appliedstatistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing,regression, etc. - Experience with data manipulation, cleansing,and analysis using tools such as SQL, Excel and other statisticalsoftware - Understanding of Machine learning techniques andalgorithms (K-NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, etc.)
