We are working with a global financial instituition to recruit for a data analyst in theMarkets Program Execution & Transformation - Data Acquisition Team, a strategic unit within Global Markets that collaborates with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Operations & Technology to deliver regulatory and cross-business transformation initiatives. This role focuses on designing and implementing integrated data solutions that support regulatory rulemaking, supervisory requirements, and strategic change projects. You'll work across multiple workstreams, delivering high-impact data solutions that drive efficiency and compliance for Markets and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

Build and optimize PySpark and SQL queries to analyze, reconcile, and interrogate large datasets.
Recommend improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and query performance.
Contribute to the architecture and design of Hadoop environments.
Translate architecture and requirements into scalable, production-ready code.
Provide technical leadership and direction on complex, high-impact projects.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and team members.
Develop project documentation including BRDs, FRDs, test plans, and UAT scenarios.
Manage project milestones, tasks, and stakeholder communications to ensure timely delivery.
Essential Criteria

5+ years of experience in Technical Data Analysis.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark.
Experience within an investment banking or financial services environment.
Exposure to Hive, Impala, and Spark ecosystem technologies (e.g. HDFS, Apache Spark, Spark-SQL, UDF, Sqoop).
Experience building and optimizing Big Data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
Familiarity with Hadoop and Big Data ecosystems.
Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse and ETL design and development methodologies.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward
Although this role is for 10 months there is a high possibility it will extend past that. This role would be required to be in the office at least 3 days per week in Belfast. If you're interested in this role, please forward an up-to-date copy of your CV
