Our client, a global leading, well regarded brand in their market sector are looking to recruit a permanentData Analystto join their team in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

The role:

As aData Analystyou will be responsible for gathering, cleaning, organising, modelling, and visualising data to extract valuable insights that can inform decision-making. This role includes conducting ongoing variance analysis, tracking actual and forecast performance against key benchmarks, and ensuring data is properly formatted and business ready.

By identifying trends, patterns, and inefficiencies within the sales and service data, you will help optimise processes, reduce costs, and improve performances. You will provide crucial customer insights, enabling targeted marketing and enhanced customer satisfaction. You will also play a vital role in risk management by identifying potential risks related to sales and service. In summary, the need for fresh, accurate sales and service data and the skills of a data analyst are critical for efficient operations and strategic planning within the company.

Data Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Perform variance analysis on an ongoing basis, tracking performance against key benchmarks such as Budget, 5 Year Plan, and last year

  • Build and fix reports, dashboards, and data visualisations, ensuring data is properly formatted and ready for use in business tools such as Power BI, Power Pivot, and Query

  • Provide insight and intelligence along with reports, utilising data visualisation techniques to effectively communicate findings through charts, reports, and dashboards

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and processes through the analysis of data collected

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, people management, prioritisation, and the ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of data

Data Analyst requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a data analyst

  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a dynamic environment

  • Advanced Excel skills with proficiency compiling Excel reports using Power Pivot and Query

  • Proficiency in compiling Power BI reports using Power BI and DAX queries

  • Strong mathematical ability

  • Ability to plan work and meet deadlines

  • High accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to objectively analyse and evaluate issues
