The 50-person team works with our corporate commercial leadership team around the globe on the development of optimal trading and risk management processes for expanded Crude, NGL, gas and LNG activities. In addition, the team works closely with our colleagues in our producing business units.Position OverviewRole OverviewThe Commercial IT Data Analyst is part of a global team of IT professionals providing critical Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) business application and process support to Commercial commodity Trading, Scheduling, Confirmations/Contracts, Pricing, Risk, Compliance, Credit, and Finance business stakeholders in the Global Commercial Gas, Liquids and LNG businesses. This position works in a highly collaborative team environment co-located with the business on the Commercial trade floor and will work closely with the Commercial IT Data Strategy Lead to support and implement the Commercial Data Strategy.Primary Role Objectives* Collaborating with business users to define and document functional reporting requirements* Developing and supporting data pipelines, analytics visualizations, reports, and other tools for the ConocoPhillips Commercial business* Analyzing data directly utilizing SQL and related tools* Working on all the data types across the enterprise and satisfying the data requirements of multiple Commercial functional teams* Providing visibility to data quality issues and working with the business/data owners to resolve* Serving as a change agent to promote Commercial Business alignment with the defined Commercial Data Strategy* Supporting the Enterprise Data Governance model and actively promoting the concepts of data sharing, data reuse, data quality and data standards.* Collaborating with Commercial Data Team members and Enterprise IT to optimize and exploit the use of strategic data platform technologies to meet analytics and reporting business requirements* Serving as a data authority and demonstrating an understanding of key data management principles and data use.* Assisting with the definition, build, and maintenance of Commercial data strategy elements such as a metadata model, business glossary, and data catalog by gathering information from various sources (business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems)* Delivering basic front line desktop and infrastructure supportCompetency Requirements* Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom* A bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
