As an Assistant Vice President in US Consumer BankAudit, you will be instrumental in building and sustaining positiveclient relationships. Experience in auditing or consumer banking,particularly with credit cards, deposits, and loans, will becrucial. To be successful as a Assistant Vice President, youshould have experience with: - Undergraduate degree in relevantfield - Auditing experience or experience in Consumer Bankingbusinesses and products specifically credit cards, deposits, andconsumer loans - Experience with or exposure to data analytics,coding such as Python/SQL and/or other data science/machinelearning techniques - Strong written and verbal communicationskills showcasing a collaborative approach across a range ofstakeholders, including senior colleagues - Strong analyticalskills with a high degree of attention to detail Some other highlyvalued skills may include: - Relevant Professional qualifications(CPA, CFA, CISA) - Knowledge of new and emerging financial productsand services - Practical understanding of relevant regulatoryenvironment, specifically consumer compliance regulations. You maybe assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success inrole, such as risk and controls, change and transformation,business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, aswell as job-specific technical skills. This role is located inWilmington, Delaware or Whippany, New Jersey. Purpose of the roleTo support the development of audits aligned to the bank’sstandards and objectives by working collaboratively withcolleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, andcomplying with policies and procedures. Accountabilities - Auditdevelopment and delivery support, including financial statements,accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and riskmanagement. - Identification of operational risks to support thedelivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan throughrisk assessments. - Assessment of internal control effectivenessand their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned toregulatory requirements. - Communication of key findings andrecommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, seniormanagers and directors. - Identification of regulatory news andindustry trends/developments to provide timely insight andrecommendations for best practice. Assistant Vice PresidentExpectations - To advise and influence decision making, contributeto policy development and take responsibility for operationaleffectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ businessdivisions. - Lead a team performing complex tasks, using welldeveloped professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work thatimpacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coachemployees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performancerelative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes - Ifthe position has leadership responsibilities, People Leaders areexpected to demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviours tocreate an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to aconsistently excellent standard. They will identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, identifying a combination of cross functionalmethodologies or practices to meet required outcomes. - Consult oncomplex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support theresolution of escalated issues. - Identify ways to mitigate riskand developing new policies/procedures in support of the controland governance agenda. - Take ownership for managing risk andstrengthening controls in relation to the work done. - Perform workthat is closely related to that of other areas, which requiresunderstanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to theachievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function. -Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned supportareas to keep up to speed with business activity and the businessstrategy. - Engage in complex analysis of data from multiplesources of information, internal and external sources such asprocedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).tosolve problems creatively and effectively. - Communicate complexinformation. 'Complex' information could include sensitiveinformation or information that is difficult to communicate becauseof its content or its audience. - Influence or convincestakeholders to achieve outcomes.
