Working knowledge of ESR BI is a fundamental to Support the lead analyst in the monitoring of progress and analysing data against all key performance targets.

Responsible for ensuring that data quality checks and procedures are embedded and followed. Ability to manipulate data and provide appropriate reporting information to enable robust decision making and planning projects. Ensure compliance with Information Governance Standards particularly in relation to relevant data protection legislation.

Assist the lead analyst to determine baselines for performance standards and identify trends in activity. Assist in address key requirements to ensure effective reporting, creating templates, developing operational reports, and ensuring that the system is embedded in every day operations. Ensure information/ performance is delivered in a timely manner, facilitating both internal and external reporting requirements.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the lead analyst in the monitoring of progress and analysing data against all key performance targets. Support the development and production of performance reports for use by Directors, Managers and the Board.

Responsible for ensuring that data quality checks and procedures are embedded and followed.

Ability to manipulate data and provide appropriate reporting information to enable robust decision making and planning projects.

Provide effective support to the performance management agenda and activities, assisting in the development of systems and processes within the Business Intelligence (BI) team, Care Groups and corporate teams.

To work corporately as part of the Trusts BI function. To ensure compliance with Information Governance Standards particularly in relation to relevant data protection legislation.

Assist the lead analyst to determine baselines for performance standards and identify trends in activity to help service managers influence decision making.

Assist in address key requirements to ensure effective reporting, creating templates, developing operational reports, and ensuring that the system is embedded in every day operations.

Ensure information/ performance is delivered in a timely manner, facilitating both internal and external reporting requirements.

Assist the lead analyst to provide an information analysis and forecast service, highlighting key quality results and trends and areas for concern, detailing reasons for variance to assist and support directorates in decision making (Business intelligence).

Actively contribute to the development of the BI systems and strategic developments/ agenda.

Work in close collaboration across all care groups and corporate services to support the BI agenda developing systems to help inform business intelligence, apply training of systems across the Organisation as relevant incorporating compliance, quality and workforce standards.

Ensure all measures are collected and reported rigorously in a timely fashion.

Utilising new technologies and presentational formats to deliver data/information to end-users through the deployment and development of tools such as Yellowfin, Trak, Access, Excel, clinical dashboards and other business and performance management tools (list not exhaustive).

To work with and support the development of new data sources, performance systems and other reporting processes, working in conjunction with other members of the organisation (supporting business intelligence) providing training and cross cover as necessary to share knowledge and skills.

To implement methodology in conjunction with the management team to improve efficiency and effectiveness of relevant systems and processes including standard operating procedures. Be responsible for ensuring these procedures are implemented and compliance is maintained along with ensuring any policy change is updated in a timely manner.

In conjunction with the management team for care groups work to develop and implement new and innovative efficiency and productivity strategies to maximise the perioperative pathway and support operating theatre efficiency and productivity (service line management) based on a range of options supported by credible information and data.

Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns, to meet the needs of the service and staff.

Tackle discrimination and harassment, and promote equality and diversity in the workplace.

Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff

Take responsibility for personal development and education.

Provide professional leadership advice and support within responsibility of role and junior members of staff.

Work closely with Information Management/ System Administration team*, where appropriate and required, to ensure alignment of work, correct reporting requirements are met, avoid duplication (*list not exhaustive).

Responsible for communication with all staff within areas of responsibility to ensure they feel informed, involved and valued by utilising negotiation, motivational and persuasive skills.

Essential

Minimum of 3 years NHS experience collecting and Analysing data Excellent written/verbal/listening communication skills Ability to pay good attention to detail, reliably check and record data and identify anomalies and be able to selfcheck completed work.

Desirable

Knowledge of NHS data reporting systems Experience with clinical electronic systems Experience of Clinical Systems such as Patient Administration Systems/ SystmOne
