About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Director to lead our shopper and POSM adapt service. This role will partner with the Shopper, Customer Marketing, and Commercial teams for a key client, a world-leading beverage company. This role involves strategic leadership, quality assurance, team development, and financial management to drive client success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of below-the-line marketing, have experience with FMCG clients, and demonstrate a proven track record in managing and growing client accounts. This role will line manage the client-facing project management team and work closely with the Head of Studio and Creative Director. This role will report into the Managing Partner.

What you will be doing:Client Relationship Management

  • Promote OLIVER’s business model of building bespoke agency solutions for clients.
  • Build and maintain a strong and long-lasting partnership with the client.
  • Serve as the primary contact, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
  • Collaborate with senior clients on advertising and content requirements.
  • Ensure that OLIVER delivers to the expected service level.
  • Act as the escalation point and resolve service issues with a collaborative approach.
  • Negotiate win-win solutions with clients where needed.
  • Stay informed about industry and consumer trends and translate them into actionable strategies.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the account strategy to achieve OLIVER and client business goals.
  • Present performance reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver industry-leading service, solutions, and innovations from OLIVER and the Brand Tech Group.
  • Drive inter-agency collaboration to deliver the client goals.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Oversee project execution, and resolve complex issues.
  • Inspire collaboration, creativity, and excellence in the team.
  • Ensure OLIVER acts as brand and toolkit guardians.

Financial Management

  • Forecast and manage client budgets.
  • Set growth targets and manage the P&L for the service.
  • Report operating income.
  • Lead timely and transparent invoicing.

Project Management

  • Design and implement new services or new markets.
  • Ensure OLIVER is exceeding agreed service level agreements.
  • Ensure all projects are profitable and competitive in pricing.
  • Optimise processes and systems to drive efficiency and creative excellence.
  • Implement best in class service levels.

You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant agency experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with clients at all levels.
  • Experience implementing new accounts and/or services.
  • Evidence of implementing process and system improvements at scale.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams of 10 or more people.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Analytics with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
  • Proficient with marketing tools and platforms.
  • Ability to be in the office three days a week, and travel as necessary to meet with clients and teams.
