Your Role


As a passionate client business obsessed Solutions Architect Manager, you are naturally in touch with client business priorities and needs. You practice various approaches to assess and evaluate client business priorities, and you are always anticipating your client business needs. When the need arises, you size the problem, employ appropriate proven practices, models, patterns and architecture to the problem, and you help plan, gather support and execute to resolution. This process is so natural to you and you love to go the extra mile to make clients happy.


As senior engineering leader, you will champion innovative thought and quality across our projects and with clients and will lead by example, by delivering client and new business work of the highest possible standard. You will manage data, turn data into artificial intelligence, and deliver artificial intelligence to client business impacts, defining a clear strategy and leading team members with a clear vision on projects. You will make Artefact famous with your ability to build consensus and gain support, assess and act on business priorities, define and solve problems, lead by influence, work collaboratively with clients and partners, and help design and develop client next generation business.


You will also build our reputation with senior clients, leading new business pitches and showcasing Artefact’s work and skills to the wider industry.


Key responsibilities

As an Enterprise Architect Manager, you'll bridge the gap between business strategy and technical implementation, designing scalable enterprise solutions while maintaining hands-on technical expertise. You'll be instrumental in shaping our technical vision while actively contributing to key implementations.


Strategic Leadership Skills

Design and architect enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions

Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and architecture designs

Create and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives

Lead architectural decisions across multiple projects and teams

Present technical solutions and strategies to C-level executives and stakeholders

Drive standardisation and best practices across the organisation


Hands On Technical Contribution

Actively participate in implementation of critical components and proof-of-concepts

Contribute to data modelling and schema design

Review and write code when needed, especially for:

Complex data transformations

System integration components

Performance optimisation

Critical architecture implementations

Provide technical guidance and code reviews

Troubleshoot complex technical issues


Solution Design & Implementation Skills

Design scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions using:

Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)

Data processing frameworks (Databricks, Apache Spark)

Data warehousing solutions

API and integration patterns

Create detailed architecture documentation and technical specifications

Establish patterns for data modelling, API design, and system integration

Define non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, security)

Ensure solutions meet enterprise security and compliance standards


Stakeholder Management & Communication

Partner with C-suite executives to understand business objectives and constraints

Present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Lead architecture review boards and technical steering committees

Mentor technical teams on architecture and design principles

Collaborate with product teams to ensure technical feasibility of roadmaps


Technical Skills


Deep understanding of:

Enterprise architecture patterns and software design patterns

Distributed systems design

Data modelling and database design

API design and integration patterns

Cloud architecture (Azure/AWS)

Data processing frameworks (Databricks, Apache Spark)


Hands-on experience with:

Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages

Data warehousing and lake architectures

ETL/ELT pipelines

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Microservices architecture

Event-driven architecture


Qualifications: Education & experience required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

10+ years of technology experience, including:

5+ years in solution architecture roles

Hands-on development experience

Data platform architecture

Strong track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions

Experience presenting to and influencing C-level executives

Deep understanding of business domains and industry trends
