Candidate must be adaptable and open minded, able to engage with diverse teams constructively and should face new challenges as a learning and growth opportunity, always seeking positive outcomes.We have need for two Application Engineers on a permanent full-time contract, this is a permanent homebased and customer site-based position.Core responsibilities.Work closely with Customer/OEM’s to understand their specific requirements, anticipate their needs, and develop solutions.Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the automotive market, trends, and technologies.Work on joint development projects with other OEMs, including problem solving, trouble-shooting and technical advice.Responsible for maintaining quality control standards and ensure that products comply with industry regulations and standards.Assist with preparation of technical documentation for products including user manuals and technical specifications as required.Technical support – sales and commissioningProject planning of electric drivetrains for commercial vehiclesCarry out feasibility studies for vehicle design based on VEDS modular system.Analysis of vehicle data recordingsTesting and acceptance of test and prototype vehiclesCommissioning and acceptance of new vehiclesEnsure excellent and consistent customer service to both external and internal customers.Support implementation of standardized working practicesAssist internal stakeholders in planning future projects.Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.Report developing patterns of failure or areas of concern to Management.Assist in highlighting and planning training requirements.Participate in technical service meetings (on-site and online) with Customers/OEMsTo perform any other duty that is consistent with the role.Act as first point of contact for customer queries or complaints.Participate on designated projects or company initiatives as requested by line managementProfessional Experience & EducationBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineeringPrior experience in field services or engineering/automotive industryStrong knowledge of Commercial automotive systems and componentsKnowledge of Electrical EngineeringBasic understanding of Matlab/Simulink/StateflowProficient in C/C++ ProgrammingCapable of handling Vector CANalyzer and Vector ToolchainExcellent problem solving, communication and project management skills.Ability to work in a team and collaborate with various departments.Package Details:-Permanent ContractCompany VehicleMonday – Thursday, 8:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm a 36.5-hour working week.£50k – £60k (dependent on experience)Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)25 days holiday (pro rata on joining)Pensions 3% EE and 6% ERLife AssuranceSalary/Bonus SacrificePrivate Health CareDental Health CareCycle to work scheme
