We learn, we improve, we test until we break through.We are looking to recruit a Senior Application Engineer to define verification strategy, write verification plans and test procedures and liaise with areas and organizations responsible for test equipment and test execution.Senior Applications Engineer Key Responsibilities: * To ensure functional specification & validation of Petalite’s technologies. * Provide technical support and guidance on all applications of Petalite’s unique technology, both remotely and in person, based on sound engineering principles, practices, and applied standards. * Plan, conduct and review testing of new software, hardware and calibrations at a variety of levels including integration testing, MIL, SIL, and HIL regression testing. * Provide technical guidance, direction, and training to a new and / or experienced engineers, specialists, technicians, and co-ops when required. * Work with Program & Product Management teams to create high-level specifications. * Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, products, applications, or field issues. * To ensure appropriate use of proven system analysis and design methodologies, to develop system design specifications, strategy, and algorithms that meets the requirements. * Work closely with Functional Safety department to ensure the analysis and development of appropriate functional safety requirements. * Identify opportunities for process improvement and effect change.What you would receive: * An excellent opportunity in the delivery of world class electrical and electronic designs through the full design lifecycle from initial concept into volume production * A competitive salary, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, death in service cover, 29 days annual leave + bank holidays. Parking is also free. * Petalite is based in Birmingham B4 7BA, the role will require on-site attendance with some flexible working.Requirements for this role: * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline. * Significant experience within renewable energy / charging infrastructure industry within a Systems Engineering role. * Knowledge and expertise in requirements analysis, management, test case creation, and execution. * Proven experience of planning, executing, and reviewing testcases of new software, hardware and calibration, including integration testing, MIL, SIL, and HIL regression testing. CAN, UDS. XCP and associated toolchains (e.g. Vector, INCA, PEAK). * Highly competent in system analysis for fault detecting, by performing & supporting the development of test cases, e.g., FMEA, FTA, HARA etc. * Strong expertise in the development of Design Validation Process. Experience of system/component delivery with full product lifecycle APQP, six sigma or similar frameworks. * Experience and proficiency within Software C-code, MathWorks, CAN and communication protocols. Experience of MATLAB & Simulink model-based development for real time applications. * Effective communicator (written and verbal) for project and technical discussion with internal and external stakeholders
