We’re looking for a hands-on problem-solver with technical expertise, creative flair and an instinct for experimentation. As our AI Mechanic, you’ll dive into challenges, explore opportunities and craft innovative solutions that connect technology, creativity and business.

We need someone who thrives on the “let’s try and see” approach, combining technical know-how with a proactive attitude. Whether it’s connecting cutting-edge AI services, optimising workflows, or building bespoke tools to solve unique challenges, you’ll bring both precision and imagination to the table. We want someone on the ground, embedded with our team, who’s excited to experiment and collaborate.

Responsibilities

  • Design, train, and optimise machine learning models tailored to our creative and operational needs.
  • Use APIs to seamlessly connect GenAI platforms such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Copilot and other tools into our workflows.
  • Develop and test custom solutions to solve technical challenges and enhance automation capabilities.
  • Juggle multiple projects and priorities, delivering results across creative, operational, and technical domains.
  • Work closely with our Technical Director, designers, developers and operational staff to align AI tools with team needs, ensuring solutions are practical and impactful.
  • Create tools and workflows that optimise efficiency, leveraging scripting and backend development to streamline operations.
  • Stay ahead of AI trends, experimenting with new platforms and ideas to keep the agency at the forefront of innovation.

KPIs

1. Technical integration and development

  • Successfully implement API integrations that connect AI tools like Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Copilot, and other platforms, ensuring robust functionality and seamless workflows.
  • Deliver fully operational tools and solutions within agreed timelines, meeting project specifications.

2. AI model development

  • Develop and optimise custom AI models that address specific creative and operational challenges, demonstrating tangible improvements in performance or efficiency.
  • Maintain and document models and solutions to ensure ease of future updates and scalability.

3. Problem-solving and innovation

  • Tackle technical challenges with innovative, practical solutions, consistently finding ways to improve automation and streamline processes.
  • Regularly present new ideas or prototypes, with at least one actionable improvement implemented each quarter.

4. Efficiency and automation

  • Deliver tools and workflows that reduce manual effort and improve team efficiency, with measurable time or cost savings (e.g., automating a process that saves X hours per week).
  • Create scalable solutions that can easily adapt to future needs without significant rework.

5. Multitasking and project management

  • Successfully manage and deliver multiple workstreams simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality across all projects.
  • Adhere to established processes for version control, documentation, and code quality, ensuring smooth handoffs and team collaboration.

6. System reliability and stability

  • Maintain a high standard of system uptime and reliability, addressing bugs or performance issues within agreed response times.
  • Continuously test and improve systems to ensure they meet user needs and performance benchmarks.

Tools and languages you’ll work with

  • Python, JavaScript,Go, RESTful API principles, and other industry standard AI languages.
  • Bash, Swift -We are predominantly a macOS fleet of users so efficiency in related languages will be very beneficial to successfully integrate solutions across our teams.

Potential projects

  • Creative AI connectivity: Develop systems that integrate multiple creative AI services, streamlining workflows and optimising designer inputs for high-quality outputs.
  • Image and video enhancement: Leverage AI to transform speech, text and image references into optimised inputs for video AI services, ensuring outstanding creative outputs.
  • Internal Project Assistant (Project PA): Build a secure, multi-functional tool to collect, organise and analyse data securely. Providing the team with rapid access to information and insights, saving time and energy, and enabling the teams to focus on higher value tasks with their own intuition and creativity.
  • Sales support tools: Design and integrate AI-driven processes to analyse PR, mailers, emails, and client engagement data, helping identify and nurture future client relationships.
