Through Life Cycle Analyst

The position: Reports to the Aero Performance Team Leader, is located in Maranello (Mo), Italy. This individual will travel to Race and Test Events on behalf of the Aerodynamics Department. The role is based in Italy and involves a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.




Key Responsibilities:




  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Thorough reporting of all track events.
  •  Department track/tunnel/CFD correlation and performance activities.
  • Contribution to maintenance of vehicle heat management and performance/reliability target data.
  • Use of company and third party simulation tools.
  • Rig testing for relevant subsystem development (Brake/Rad Rigs, etc.).
  • Follows and enforces safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Aero Performance Team Leader.



Education and Work Experience:




  • BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required. 
  • Typically requires at least 3 years of experience in the automobile racing industry, experience in high technology motorsport environment (F1 – LMP1 are preferable) is a plus.



Specialized Knowledge and Skills:




  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong data analysis experience required, ideally within the Aero Performance environment, broad understanding of race car aero performance (F1 - LMP1 are preferable).  
  • Understanding of aerodynamics and fluid analysis, either on the computation side or experimental side is beneficial.
  • Experience in F1 aerodynamic development is beneficial
  • Proven experience with 3D CAD software.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis is beneficial. 
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics is beneficial.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis.



Equipment and Applications:




Data Acquisition software experience, MAT ATLAS is beneficial. Working experience using MATLAB/Simulink and Python is beneficial. Microsoft Office and engineering packages including but not limited to, wind tunnel, basic hand tools, fabrication tools.
