Technical Data Analyst - Reference Data Platform

We are building a new Reference Data Platform and are looking for a Technical Analyst who will work in the development team. The candidate will work with both the developers and the user community to analyse data, identify gaps, propose solutions, develop data migration scripts, specifications and other artefacts as needed for the wider development process to be successful.

Principal Responsibilities

Analyzing complex data sets to:

identify data quality issues

propose resolutions in collaboration with the users

Developing:

correction SQL scripts to address data quality issues

migrations scripts in SQL as needed to take on data from legacy platforms into the new system

data quality scripts to assert issues have been resolved and/or monitor to ensure no new issues arise

reports as needed to deliver user requirements

Specifying and driving delivery with wider development team of new screens, workflows and API usage patterns

Assisting in testing new user functionality to ensure success of the delivered end user requirements

Qualifications

5+ years SQL experience

5+ business analysis experience, preferably in a reference data domain

Strong experience in analyzing complex historical (time-series) data and establishing Data Quality patterns

Experience with bi-temporal data models is a plus

Highly analytical with good problem solving skills and creativity; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Positive individual with strong communication skills; able to interface well with users and other development teams

Self-driven individual with an ability to work under pressure

Skills Desired

Understanding of financial services instruments is a plus

Self-starter, delivery orientated individual

Python is a plus
